2006 Trendy Year Wrap-Up

Hola Mis Amigos!

It has been an extremely trendy year!! I started this blog in May of this year and covered the fashion trends of the spring, summer, fall, and winter seasons of 2006. With the overexposure of celebrities, we were able to copy the fashions of our favorite stars. Celebrities, from Paris Hilton, Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan, Amerie, Nicole Richie, and Jessica Simpson, may not have always made the best choices in fashion, but they always represented the hottest trends. These are my favorite fashion trends for the year of 2006.

Favorites:

Cinched Waist

The most flattering trend of the year!

Cool T- Shirts

So Comfortable!

Disliked:
Forehead Head Band

Rolled Up ShortsAmerie

Too bulky
Rompers
I got used to this trend. I put it in the dislike section only because of jealousy that they don't fit right on me.

I never thought that this was cute and it got really played out.

Have A Happy Happy New Year!!!!

That Grecian Look

Hola Mis Amigos!

The Glam.com awards voting start on January 2nd. Please nominate StyleCrazy!!

So many celebrities are wearing one-shoulder dresses. It's very flattering for everyone especially since almost everyone has nice shoulders. These dresses look good with thick straps or thin ones. So flaunt those shoulders!

Product of the Week:

The product of the week is Khoret Amen Hair Oil by Carol's Daughter. Carol's Daughter is one of my favorite body care lines. The Khoret Amen Hair Oil is the first product that I've used from this body care collection. The hair oil includes olive oil blended with lavender, sage, and other essential oils that are good for hair and skin. I must admit that I am not too fond of the smell. It's scent is very earthy. My husband hates it.

One the other hand, it did awesome things for my hair. It made my hair sooo soft and shiny and very healthy looking. I used it as a hot oil treatment, just like the site recommends, and when I wrapped my hair at night. But just like the Tui Hair Oil, use sparingly or your hair get's too oily.

Mod Fashion

Hey!

This late fall season has been about 60's inspired fashion. White boots, black and white stripes, pea coats, white-rimmed sunglasses, baby doll dresses, houndstooth print, and capes. Most of the shipment at our store has been these 60's infused styles. Mod fashion is a great way to wear crisp black and white in a chic way.

Product of the Week:

The product of the week is Proactive Renewing Cleanser. This is a great face wash, but only to use occasionally. This is a really good product for me when I have constant breakouts. It keeps my face clear for about two weeks. The only downside of Proactive Renewing Cleanser for me is that my face gets used to it. The nasty pimples go away, but the regular weekly ones come back.

I also see no need for the toner and the Repairing Lotion. The lotion makes me keep breaking out and the toner does nothing. My regular oil free moisturizer works well with the cleanser. After my month supply runs out, I go back to St. Ives Apricot Scrub.

Duster Sweaters

Hey!

Duster Sweaters, also called Sweater Jackets, were very popular a few years ago. Everybody in high school had one. They are back full swing now especially with 'grandpa sweaters' being popular too. But you don't have to look like an old man. It's so easy to girly up these sweaters. Most of them come with a belt to tie around the waist. To look more feminine, buy ones with satiny belts or fitted.

Capes

Hola!

I don't usually wear coats, but I think
I can rock this season's capes. I've always looked at capes as part of goth fashion, but these are cheerful and cute, not dark and scary.

What I've learned about capes this season is to wear them short and have them open enough to expose your outfit. That's how I design the outfits at my store. Elle.com says the same thing. Long ones are good too as long as they don't fully cover you.
