Celebrity Summer Style

Hey!

With the summer time practically here, all the celebrities are hanging out at the beach. Their styles are basic, but still they have their own super star flare. Gwen Stefani is in jeans and a button- front shirt, but has a cute bow and ruched sleeves for uniqueness. She's also wearing stylish sunglasses, gold bracelets, and slip on flat tennis shoes.

Floppy hats protect our skin and hair from the sun. They are also an eye- catching accessory. Victoria and David Beckham want all eyes on them with their attention-grabbing jewelery, large accessories, and fancy beach wear.

Headbands go in and out, but right now they're in. Brightly colored and stand out. They're cute and keep your hair out of your face. Perfect for the beach to keep you cool. Beyonce and Naomie Watts are keeping their hair back with these bright handbands. Peace Out!

Fashionable Flats

¿Comó Están?

We all know that flat shoes have blown up this year, but the trend this season are the bold colors. Flats come in every fashion to fit your style. If it's girly, classy, sporty, or in-at-the-moment, you can find the flat shoe for your style. Outrageous colors come in all style flats from tennis shoes, sandals, ballet flats, and wedges (the heeled flat).

The gladiator sandal is an example of a flat. They are definitely inspired by the ancient greeks.

The slip-on tennis shoes are the trendiest. Keds are advertising theirs with Mischa Barton. I remember wearing Keds when I was really young, then I only saw them on older people. They've now come out with all different patterns and styles. They've even teamed with BCBG Max Azria with customized styles!

Feeling Nautical?

¿Qué Tal?

Sorry for the delay. I was out of town for a few days, but I'm back to talk about my favorite trends and not so favorite trends.

Stripes are all over this season. Any sort of stripes in your outfit are acceptable. If it's in your socks, skirt, or all over your shirt, it's all good. You'll probably look like you're going for an afternoon of sailing, but I think thats the best part. It's a relaxed and laid- back look.

You can wear stripes in all different styles. Wide stripes, muticolored, horizontal or verical. Not too long ago though, the style experts were telling us to stay away from horizontal stripes. Claims were that they wideded the middle and were unflattering. I've always disagreed with this, but if you don't want to take any chances, the way to avoid the wide appearance is to wear vertical stripes. They are shown to lengthin the body and be slimming. Small horzontal stripes are fine and flattering also.

Now, of course, don't wear a striped top with a striped bottom. A striped top is best with a solid colored bottom. Pin stripes are the absolute best for the bottom and flatter everyone. I don't like horizontal stripes on legs, but they are accepted in a short skirt or even tube socks (if that's your thing). Anyway's, I believe stripes will always be here because I've been wearing them since I was little and I really started wearing them a lot in 1999 and I still am. Well, that's it for today! See ya!

Gladiator Sandals

Hola

I really can't make up my mind about how I feel for gladiator shoes. I've seen some that are more subtle and fashionable than others, and then there are those that look like they're ready to be worn in battle. I also just found out that these shoes are part of some of the fashions that have jumped out of the 1980's. I think some of the 80's fashions have been updated nicely, like gauchos and bermuda shorts, but some things are still ugly like bubble skirts and leggings. The numerous thin straps, buckles, and strings don't flatter feet and look masculine. I found that the Jessica Simpson gladiator wedges are very cute and feminine.

Long Necklaces

¿Comó están?

One of this season's big trends are the attention- grabbing long necklaces. They are chunky, long, and colorful. I like them. I was also a big fan of the big chandelier earrings too. They do so much for a plain outfit like a white tank and jeans. Long are necklaces convenient because you can make them, buy them on the street, and they're in almost any store in the mall. They're a big part of the bohemian look. I first noticed them on celebrities, like Mary- Kate Olsen, Jessica Simpson, and Nicole Richie. If you like big beads and gems, anyone can pull this look off.

Got Hips?

Hola Todos

I got hips. And I like them. But I hate them when I'm in the dressing room. Nothing seems to fit right. Sometimes I just want to disguise them. They don't need that much attention.
These are clothes that flatter big hips:

  • Low rise jeans, but not music video low rise. Wide leg or boot- cut proportionates the body.
  • Flat front trousers with no pockets and wide leg
  • Wrap skirts and skirts that flare out a little
  • Crop jackets
  • Empire waist shirts and dresses
  • Seams that elongate the body

One-Piece Revolution

¿Qué Pasó?

Thank you, trendsetters for the return of the one- piece swimsuit!! And they're not the same conservative swimwear like before. These new suits in the one- piece circuit are bold with sexy cut- outs. They exhibit a lot of skin, but don't go overboard. Check this one out by American Apparel. It's a plain suit on the bottom with a bright contrast on top. Straps can also be tied in the front. Pues, that's all I got for hoy!

Messy and Modern

I am loving the simple hairstyle trend this season. The ponytails, beach hair, and the top braid. Jessica Simpson and Beyonce wwear the beach hair perfectly. It's a little messy, but natural- looking and sexy. It's so easy to do!

You know what else is easy? Adding more bold statements to your outfit. Belts worn over dresses, shirts, or coats are everywhere in all designs. They are jeweled, layered, wide, colorful, shiny, and big buckled. Wear them at your waist for a look that is sophisticated and modern.

Royal Looks

Natural is sexy. Letting your hair fall and move in it's natural way is what we all want now. For those who can't keep it that real with your hair, the meek ponytail has been dignified to a higher status. Ponytails work with all lengths. I would take advantage of the ponytail trend right now while it's hot and the easiest style invented.

The little white dress is popular this season, but on the other side of the color spectrum, royal blue is hot too. This color of the second can be found in clothing, handbags, belts, shoes, and jewelry. This color is flattering on every skin tone. At the 2005 Emmy's, Halle Berry wore a stunning royal blue stretch Ungaro gown. It is one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen. Pues, hasta mañana!

Leggings

¡Hola!

I'm not a fan of punk rock style, but I think leggings work with the look. Yep. I said leggings. I don't know how this happened, but they jumped out of the 80's and early 90's into 2006. Leggings have definitely made a comeback.

I absolutely can't get with it. They are so ugly in every way to me. Leggings are the most unecessary article of clothing invented. The designers say to wear them under a dress or skirt with flats. Ugh! Why would you do that? A lot of the stars wear them with big ugly frumpy tops too. I think they look so- so on some of the celebs like Lindsay Lohan and Sienna Miller because they are small women, but they are so unessential.

If you can pull it off and you like them, go for it! I won't look at you crazy; unless you decide to complete your style with a shoulder padded blazer!

In Those Jeans

Sexy, eye catching denim vests are a favorite this minute. I like this one by J Lo because of it's halter look, crazy pockets, and the position of the seams and buttons.

Hey Ya'll!

It's me talking about my favorite fashion trends again. Remember when denim was everywhere? Hats, shoes, handbags, dresses, even furniture? Well, I believe it's back. The jean vest, jean dress, and jean purse, it's all popping again. It's crazy now because the superthin and superwide jeans are the must-haves. It's also great though, because it adds major variety to your wardrobe. Certain tops look best with skinny jeans, some with wide. Heels with both types will always lengthen the leg and slim you up a little bit.

These are the right this minute popular skinny jeans by Miss Sixty.

I am a little scared of the ultra skinny jeans. They don't work well with us pear shapes, unless you find that perfect top to camouflage our hips. I'm afraid of the stumpy look, but if you're comfortable, that's always what matters most. I never say, 'what was that person thinking with that outfit?' Especially if they look confident and at ease with themselves. Negative attention is drawn to yourself when you look like you're having some sort of difficulty with yourself.

Back to the jeans. You can do so much with it. Jazz it up with gold and silver metallics. Denim vests with gauchos and wedges, jean dresses with leather belts and boots for the western look, and the handbags. Sea Agradable.

Empire Waist

¿Qué Tal?

The empire waist is wonderfully pleasant! It's so majestic and gives your outfit a nice statement. I think this look gives the skinniest girl curves and the thicker ones a more slimming expression. The experts claim that just under the bosom is the slimmest part of the body. The empire waist takes the eyes to this part of the body and away from the wider parts.

Some disagree with this look because they feel it looks like you're pregnant or puffy. I feel that you can get that puffy look only if the clothes fit too tight under the bosom wich would make the material flare out too much underneath. Whatever, because they work for me and I'm definitely not a small girl.

Well, that's all I got for today. See ya when I see ya!

Season of Innocence

Hola Todos!

They say that white is also huge this season. I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but thats what I heard. It's supposed to represent innocence. Hmmm... Anyways, it's a good idea because I have seen the cutest little white dresses. From just regular cotton, to lace, to chiffon. They are all so beautiful and can be dressed up in everyway. With a denim vest, a designer belt, or some other cropped jacket, the white dress is a blank canvas. I also like to leave the dress alone and style around it with bright shoes, accessories, and a great hairstyle. Pues, I gotta go!

Make A Bold Statement

Hey Everybody!

Dare to go bold? That is one of the many trends of the season. Michael Kors, Cavalli, and even the classic sleek styles of Calvin Klein are going bold. These daring, colorful, and vocal prints are all over the place. There is a print in all colors and some that match every body type. Polka dots and stripes are so ordinary compared to this seasons' styles. I think this trend is so cool, but I don't believe it will last. A lot of these prints are the same one's that we've seen on those ugly muu muu's, but instead the cloth has been cut into stylish shapes. It's ok though, because I still think it looks great. There can almost never be a repeat of a pattern because a lot of the prints look to be inspired straight out of an abstract painting or a design on the back of a tropical bug.

Some of these designs are so theatrical, but so refreshly summery. (If that makes any sense). Most of them are flowing and light. A fitted top with a flowing bold skirt is very elegant or a full blown eye catching dress is chic too.

Well, that's all I got to say for today.
