Repeat Trend- Wide Belts

Wide belts are definantly here to stay. They are so flattering. They elongate your middle section, give you that curvy hourglass figure, gives your bust a boost, and so on. With the gazillion types of styles out there, you're sure to find the perfect one for you. More benefits to wearing wide belts is that you can wear them high or low, can be used for day or night time looks, works on all body types, and choices of just about any color and prints.

Beatnik

Hey Ya'll!

I've secretly been a fan of Mod fashion, also called Beatnik fashion for awhile now. I love the cleanliness and sharpness of the look. By the way, a Beatnik is a person from the Beat generation who's behavior and style of dress is nonconformist. It started in the late 1950's and 1960's. The fashion was the opposite of the flowery, flowy, hippie look.

Some items of Beatnik fashion include, pea coats, cigarette pants, ballet slippers, striped tops, tall boots, berets, and sweater- dresses.

Product of the Week:

The product of the week is Olay Body Wash Plus Body Butter Ribbons. (That's a mouth- full.) So this is my new favorite body wash. I've been using it for about a month now and I love it. It makes my skin so soft, especially when I use it after a scrub. And I don't need to use lotion after use. It comes in three other washes, with almond oil, aloe extract, radiance ribbons, and my favorite, jojoba butter.

Full Sleeves

Hola Muchachas!

Who knew there were so many sleeve types?
Bell, Pagoda, Bishop, Juliet, etc. These full sleeves have been a trend for a few months now. I've seen them around for a while and I even tried a few on. I think they look so cute on a hanger in the store, but they do not work well on me.

Full sleeves are known to define your shoulders and I feel that it gives me a little too much definition. I don't want to actually look like I walked out of the Victorian or Edwardian era. Maybe it's another skinny trend. Maybe they only look good on boney arms. Just kidding. But I do like the elegance they bring to clothes.

Beach Trends-Jewelry

What Up!

And we're back... My computer is up and running. So I will be posting on the regular. Oh, and in case you missed it, January 17th's post (Beach Trends-Nautical) is after the 'Until Thursday' post.

The beach themes in jewelry are chains, rope, helms, anchors, sailboats, aquatic animals, shells, sailboats, etc. They're everywhere. You can find them in junior clothing chain stores to the high end places.

This ring is from the JudeFrances jewelry collection on NeimanMarcus.com. Green is a popular beach color beach of the greenish blue ocean. Beautiful.

This charm bracelet is from Tiffany. It has a starfish, a fish, a beach umbrella, an anchor, and a sailboat. Super cute.

I found this little necklace on Amazon.com. I think it would be really cute with almost any casual outfit. It offers free shipping too.

Beach Trends- Nautical

Ralph Lauren

Spring break is fast approaching and everyone is ready to go on their tropical vacations. There are a lot of beach trends this year that I'm excited about. Last year, there were a few beach trend reports like nautical stripes, one- piece swimsuits, floppy hats, and ocean life prints. The next few posts will be on beach trends. This first one is on nautical fashion.

What I've noticed nautical fashion to be is, big buttons, navy, rolled up shorts, stripes, and sailor inspired looks like, anchors, neck ties, and tailored finishes. It's a very chic and clean look and it works great for warm weather.

Product of the Week:

The product of the week is Bliss Body Buff. I was walking through Sephora browsing, smelling and sampling when I came upon this exfoliating scrub. It contains shea and almond oil with an amazing natural vanilla scent. I can't quite get myself to pay $36 for 12oz, so I'll just keep getting my regular take home samples. By the way, it works amazing too. It leaves my skin crazy soft! I recommend.

Corsets

Hey!

I hope you all had a great new year!!!

A big winter trend has been corsets. Corsets were first used to give women a more 'feminine' shape and was a woman's duty to wear them. Now we choose to wear them for fashion. Corsets can be embellished for outerwear or plain to wear as an undergarment.

With everyone trying to show a slimmer waist, a corset fits right in with waist management trends. Unlike the Victorian days when corsets shifted your bones, today's corsets are comfortable while still providing cleavage and helping your posture.

While browsing the internet, I came across Absolutecorsets.com. They have a big variety of styles from Victorian era styles to lingerie.

Product of the Week:

The product of the week is Motions Moisture Plus-After Shampoo Conditoner. This is product that I used to use a few years ago, but have strayed. I was regularly using my beloved Pantene Relaxed and Natural conditioner, but they were out at Walmart. I started to browse the 'ethnic hair care' section, and found Motions products. I decided to get it. I shampooed my hair and left the conditioner in for about 30 minutes. My hair had never been so soft!!! I will be sticking with this for awhile.
